My name is Steve Maxwell, and I am running for Sheriff because I believe law enforcement must serve all people, fairly and professionally. Public safety should never be driven by political agendas, personal interests, or outside pressure. The role of Sheriff demands independence, integrity, and a clear commitment to the community — not politics.

As Sheriff, my focus will be on constitutional policing, strong professional standards, and leadership that earns the trust of the people it serves. I believe the Sheriff’s Office must operate with clarity of purpose, transparency of action, and a firm commitment to doing what is right — even when it is not easy or popular.

As Sheriff, I will lead an office that protects public safety while honoring due process and civil liberties.
