As Sheriff of Greene County, I have had the opportunity to work with and observe many law enforcement professionals across Virginia. After learning about the candidates seeking to serve as the next Sheriff of Spotsylvania County, I am pleased to offer my endorsement of Steve Maxwell.

Steve Maxwell has spent a lifetime serving his community and our country. His background in local law enforcement, combined with his continued service in federal law enforcement, demonstrates a depth of experience and a commitment to public safety that is essential for leading a sheriff’s office.

The Office of Sheriff requires strong leadership, integrity, and a clear commitment to serving the public. Steve Maxwell has demonstrated those qualities throughout his career. He understands the responsibilities of the position and the importance of maintaining the trust of the community while supporting the deputies who serve under him. Steve Maxwell is also a strong supporter of the Second Amendment and the constitutional rights of law‑abiding citizens.
